Bourbon Cozy

The other day I was lucky enough to tour the Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, KY.  The process of making bourbon is fascinating.  At the end of the tour, it is customary to do a small tasting. During this tasting I found a new delightful treat! Its called Bourbon Cream and it's much like Bailey's but it's made with bourbon and has the flavor profile of oak and caramel, without being too sweet. We have been adding it to everything during this mini storm, and I fully believe it is what has kept me cozy. It tastes great in coffee, cocoa, and even root beer! The versatility of this spirit is making my adoration grow by leaps and bounds!

Snow Dogs

Louisville is the kind of city that shuts down with the tiniest rumor of snow.  Many people complain about it, but I think it's charming. I love the idea of an entire city playing hooky! What could be more lovely than that? Here is what I did during the second round of the Polar Vortex.

This little guy is Floyd Rufus. He's our first born (really our first adopted).  We had some fun in the snow!

Touristing

"I've always felt like a tourist, because I have never fit in anywhere."   Augusten Burroughs
Traveling brings out my inner tourist. I am unabashed about touring well-known attractions. I find them both exhilarating and exhausting. But, I also like to deviate from the norm and seek novel adventures. It may be dinner from a local chef, or exploring lesser-known local gems.  In preparation for my trip to Paris, I found the website www.vayable.com.  This website allows you to book unique travel experiences in a variety of cities. I chose to take a walking photography tour in Paris, and it was well worth the money.  I am absolutely smitten with my photographs!  Vayable.com offers everything from graffiti tours in LA, bourbon tours in Kentucky, to wine tours in Rome. Cheers to new experiences!

Paris is Always a Good Idea

Audrey Hepburn said, " Paris is always a good idea."  Now that I have spent time in the city, I must agree! I was lucky enough to book a last minute trip to Paris. During my trip I took a photography class, explored the city alone, went to the Louvre, Notre Dame, Centre Pompidou Beaubourg, and all the other touristy things.  Paris has so much beauty and history! It was both overwhelming and magical. I love that Paris is so sophisticated, noble, enchanting, and graceful.  Here are my best photographs:
